: قُلْتُ لَهُ اَلْمَرْأَةُ تَؤُمُّ اَلنِّسَاءَ قَالَ «لاَ إِلاَّ عَلَى اَلْمَيِّتِ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ أَوْلَى مِنْهَا تَقُومُ وَسَطَهُنَّ مَعَهُنَّ فِي اَلصَّفِّ فَتُكَبِّرُ وَ يُكَبِّرْنَ.

اور زُرارہ نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے کہا: کیا عورت عورتوں کی امامت کر سکتی ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: "نہیں، سوائے مرنے والے کے، اگر اس سے زیادہ حق دار کوئی نہ ہو۔ وہ ان کے درمیان صف میں کھڑی ہوتی ہے، پھر تکبیر کہتی ہے اور وہ بھی تکبیر کہتے ہیں۔"
Translation
Hadith.1178 – Zurarah narrated from Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) that He said: “I asked him whether a woman can lead other women in prayer.” Imam (as) said: "No, except for the prayer over the deceased (funeral prayer) if there is no one more appropriate than her. In that case, She should stand among them in the row, and She recites the takbir and they follow her."
