: «مَنْ قَالَ فِي وَتْرِهِ إِذَا أَوْتَرَ: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اَللَّهَ رَبِّي وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً وَ وَاظَبَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى تَمْضِيَ سَنَةٌ كَتَبَهُ اَللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ مِنَ «اَلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالْأَسْحٰارِ » وَ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ اَلْجَنَّةُ وَ اَلْمَغْفِرَةُ مِنَ اَللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ.

اور عُمر بن یزید نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے فرمایا: ‘‘جو شخص اپنے وتر میں، جب وہ وتر ادا کرے، کہے: 'میں اللہ سے اپنے رب کی مغفرت طلب کرتا ہوں اور اس کی طرف توبہ کرتا ہوں' ستر مرتبہ، اور اس پر ثابت قدم رہے یہاں تک کہ ایک سال گزر جائے، اللہ تعالیٰ اسے اپنے پاس 'وہ لوگ جو سحر کے وقت استغفار کرتے ہیں' میں لکھ دے گا، اور جنت اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی مغفرت اس کے لیے واجب ہو جائے گی۔’’
Translation
Hadith.1405 - It is narrated from Umar ibn Yazid that Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) that He said: "Whoever says during his Witr prayer (while performing the single-unit prayer of Witr) 'Astaghfirullah Rabbi wa Atubu Ilayh' (I seek forgiveness from Allah (swt), my Lord (azj), and I turn to Him in repentance) seventy times, and continues to do so regularly until a year passes, Allah (swt) will write him among 'those who seek forgiveness in the early hours of the morning,' and Paradise and forgiveness from Allah (swt), the Mighty and Glorious, will become obligatory for him."
