قَالَ «إِنَّهُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ اَلرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ فِي اَلْإِبِلِ فَيَزْجُرُهَا هَايْ هَايْ كَهَيْئَةِ ذَلِكَ» قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ فَمَا حَالُ اَلْبَرْقِ فَقَالَ «تِلْكَ مَخَارِيقُ اَلْمَلاَئِكَةِ تَضْرِبُ اَلسَّحَابَ فَيَسُوقُهُ إِلَى اَلْمَوْضِعِ اَلَّذِي قَضَى اَللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِيهِ اَلْمَطَرَ.

ابو بصیر نے ابا عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے گرج کے بارے میں پوچھا: یہ کیا کہتا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: “یہ اس شخص کی مانند ہے جو اونٹوں کے درمیان ہوتا ہے اور انہیں آگے بڑھاتا ہے، کہتا ہے، 'ہائے، ہائے'، کچھ ایسا ہی۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے کہا، “میں تمہاری فدیہ بن جاؤں، پھر بجلی کا کیا حال ہے؟” تو انہوں نے فرمایا: “وہ فرشتوں کی کوڑے ہیں؛ وہ بادلوں کو مارتے ہیں اور انہیں اس جگہ لے جاتے ہیں جہاں اللہ تعالیٰ نے بارش کا حکم دیا ہے۔”
Translation
Hadith.1496 - Abu Basir asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about the thunder, saying, "What does it say?" Imam (as) said: "It is like a man among the camels who drives them, saying 'Hai, Hai,' just as it is." I asked: "May I be your ransom, what about the lightning?" Imam (as) said: "Those are the whips of the angels striking the clouds, driving them to the place where Allah (swt), the Mighty and Glorious, has decreed the rain to fall."
