شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ حَضَرَ اَلْمَوْسِمَ أَ يَحُجُّ مُفْرِداً لِلْحَجِّ أَوْ يَتَمَتَّعُ أَيُّهُمَا أَفْضَلُ فَكَتَبَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ «إِلَيْهِ يَتَمَتَّعُ.

2551 - اور عَلِي بن مَیَسِّر نے ابو جعفر الثانی علیہ السلام کو لکھا: اس سے پوچھا کہ ایک شخص نے رمضان کے مہینے میں عمرہ کیا اور پھر موسم حج آیا: کیا اسے حج افراد کے طور پر کرنا چاہیے یا تمتع کرنا چاہیے؟ ان دونوں میں سے کون سا بہتر ہے؟ تو انہوں نے، علیہ السلام، لکھا: “اس کے لیے تمتع کرنا چاہیے۔”
Translation
Hadith.2551 - Ali ibn Muyassir wrote to Abu Ja'far al-Thani, Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (as), asking about a man who performed ‘Umrah in the Month of Ramadan and then attended the Hajj season. Should he perform Ifrad Hajj (individual Hajj) or Tamattu‘ (combining ‘Umrah and Hajj)? Which is better? Abu Ja‘far al-Thani (as) wrote back: "He should perform Tamattu‘."
