: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلْهَدْيِ اَلْوَاجِبِ إِنْ أَصَابَهُ كَسْرٌ أَوْ عَطَبٌ أَ يَبِيعُهُ وَ إِنْ بَاعَهُ مَا يَصْنَعُ بِثَمَنِهِ قَالَ «إِنْ بَاعَهُ فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ بِثَمَنِهِ وَ يُهْدِي هَدْياً آخَرَ».

العلاء نے محمد بن مسلم سے روایت کی، جو دونوں اماموں میں سے ایک سے، علیہم السلام، نے فرمایا: میں نے اس سے واجب ہدی کے بارے میں پوچھا: اگر اسے کوئی ٹوٹ پھوٹ یا نقصان پہنچ جائے تو کیا وہ اسے بیچ سکتا ہے؟ اور اگر وہ اسے بیچ دے تو اس کی قیمت کے ساتھ کیا کرے؟ اس نے کہا: اگر وہ اسے بیچ دے تو اسے اس کی قیمت صدقہ کر دینی چاہیے اور ایک اور قربانی پیش کرنی چاہیے۔
Translation
Hadith.3077 - Al-Ala narrated from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from one of the Imams (as), who said: I asked him about a hady (obligatory sacrificial animal) that suffers a fracture or injury—can it be sold, and if sold, what should be done with its price? Imam (as) replied: "If he sells it, he should give its price in charity and offer another sacrificial animal."
