هِ فَقَالَ «اِقْطَعْ أَزْرَارَهُ» قُلْتُ وَ كُمَّهُ قَالَ «لاَ إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ إِذَا قُطِعَ لَهُ وَ هُوَ جَدِيدٌ لَمْ يُجْعَلْ لَهُ أَكْمَامٌ فَأَمَّا إِذَا كَانَ ثَوْباً لَبِيساً فَلاَ يُقْطَعُ مِنْهُ إِلاَّ اَلْأَزْرَارُ.

اَلصَّادِق علیہ السلام سے پوچھا گیا کہ ایک شخص کے پاس قمیص ہو تو کیا اسے کفن میں لپیٹا جائے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا، "اس کے بٹن کاٹ دو۔" میں نے کہا: "اور اس کی آستینیں؟" انہوں نے فرمایا، "نہیں۔ یہ صرف اس وقت ہوتا ہے جب اسے کاٹا جائے اور وہ نیا ہو؛ اس کے لیے آستینیں نہیں بنائی جانی چاہئیں۔ لیکن اگر یہ پہنا ہوا کپڑا ہو تو اس میں سے صرف بٹن کاٹے جاتے ہیں۔"
Translation
Hadith.415 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked about whether a man should be shrouded in his shirt (Qamis). Imam (as) said: "Remove its buttons." I asked: "And the sleeves?" Imam (as) said: "No, that is only necessary if it is made new for him, in which case it should have no sleeves. However, if it is an already-worn garment, only the buttons need to be removed."
