: سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ أَصْلَحَكَ اَللَّهُ شُرْبُ اَلْخَمْرِ شَرٌّ أَمْ تَرْكُ اَلصَّلاَةِ قَالَ "شُرْبُ اَلْخَمْرِ" ثُمَّ قَالَ "أَ وَ تَدْرِي لِمَ ذَلِكَ" قَالَ لاَ قَالَ "لِأَنَّهُ يَصِيرُ فِي حَالٍ لاَ يَعْرِفُ فِيهَا رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ".

اور ابن ابی عمیر نے اسماعیل بن سالم سے روایت کی، جو ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: ایک شخص نے ان سے پوچھا اور کہا: "اللہ آپ کو درست کرے، شراب پینا زیادہ برا ہے یا نماز چھوڑنا؟" انہوں نے کہا: "شراب پینا۔" پھر انہوں نے کہا: "کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ ایسا کیوں ہے؟" انہوں نے کہا: "نہیں۔" انہوں نے کہا: "کیونکہ وہ ایسی حالت میں آتا ہے جس میں وہ اپنے رب، عزوجل، کو نہیں پہچانتا۔"
Translation
Hadith.4948 - Ibn Abi Umayr narrated from Isma'il ibn Salim, who reported from Abu Abdillah (as) that a man asked him: "May Allah (swt) rectify you, is drinking alcohol worse or abandoning prayer?" Imam (as) replied: "Drinking alcohol." Then Imam (as) said: "Do you know why that is?" The man replied: "No." Imam (as) said: "Because it leads a person to a state where he no longer recognizes his Lord (azj), the Mighty and Majestic."
