قَالَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : "لاَ يُجْلَدُ رَجُلٌ وَ لاَ اِمْرَأَةٌ حَتَّى يَشْهَدَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعَةُ شُهُودٍ عَلَى اَلْإِيلاَجِ وَ اَلْإِخْرَاجِ" وَ قَالَ "لاَ أَكُونُ أَوَّلَ اَلشُّهُودِ اَلْأَرْبَعَةِ أَخْشَى اَلرَّوْعَةَ أَنْ يَنْكُلَ بَعْضُهُمْ فَأُجْلَدَ".

اور عاصم بن حمید نے محمد بن قیص سے روایت کی، جو ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: امیرالمؤمنین علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: "کسی مرد یا عورت کو کوڑے نہیں مارے جاتے جب تک کہ چار گواہ ان کے خلاف دخول اور خروج کی گواہی نہ دیں۔" اور انہوں نے فرمایا: "میں چار گواہوں میں پہلا نہیں ہوں گا، کیونکہ مجھے خوف ہے کہ ان میں سے کوئی گھبرائے اور پھر مجھے کوڑے مارے جائیں۔"
Translation
Hadith.4991 - Aṣim ibn Humayd narrated from Muhammad ibn Qays from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) who said: "The Commander of the Faithful (as) said: "A man or a woman shall not be flogged until four witnesses testify explicitly to the act of penetration and withdrawal." Imam (as) also said: "I will not be the first among the four witnesses because I fear that one of them might retract their testimony, and I would then be subjected to flogging."
