لَهُ: زَوَالُ اَلشَّمْسِ نَعْرِفُهُ بِالنَّهَارِ كَيْفَ لَنَا بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ «لِلَّيْلِ زَوَالٌ كَزَوَالِ اَلشَّمْسِ» قَالَ فَبِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ نَعْرِفُهُ قَالَ «بِالنُّجُومِ إِذَا اِنْحَدَرَتْ.

ʿUmar ibn Ḥanẓalah نے Abā ʿAbdillāh علیہ السلام سے سوال کیا اور کہا: ہم دن کے دوران سورج کے عروج کو پہچانتے ہیں؛ ہم رات کے دوران اسے کیسے جان سکتے ہیں؟ تو انہوں نے فرمایا: "رات کا بھی سورج کی طرح ایک عروج ہوتا ہے۔" انہوں نے کہا: پھر ہم اسے کس چیز سے پہچانیں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: "ستاروں کے نزول کے وقت۔"
Translation
Hadith.678 - Umar ibn Hanthala asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) saying: "We recognize the zenith (midday) of the sun during the day; how can we recognize the zenith during the night?" Imam (as) said: "The night has a zenith just like the zenith of the sun." Umar then asked: "And by what means do we recognize it?" Imam (as) said: "By the stars when they descend”.
