John Shaqi

۳۵۹. وَقَالَ (عليه ‏السلام): يَا أَسْرَى الرَّغْبَةِ أَقْصِرُوا فَإِنَّ الْمُعَرِّجَ عَلَى الدُّنْيَا لَا يَرُوعُهُ مِنْهَا إِلَّا صَرِيفُ أَنْيَابِ الْحِدْثَانِ.


Translation

359. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said: O’ slaves of desires, cut them short because he who leans on the world gets nothing out of it except the pain of hardships.
