It has been customary to bestow upon this volume a similar distrust as upon the preceding; but Dr. Shea contends that the luckless treatment of the _Nouvelle Découverte_ by a presumptuous editor was also repeated with this. It was entitled, _Nouveau Voyage d’un Pais plus grand que l’Europe_, Utrecht, 1698. The work was made up from Le Clercq, and included the treatise on the Indians which had been omitted in the _Nouvelle Découverte_, of which this volume may be considered the supplement.
