FOLK LORE. _Churching of Women._--In Herefordshire it is considered _contra bonos mores_ for the husband to appear in church on the day of his wife's churching, or, at all events, in the same pew with her. An antiquary of that county considers this a relic of Roman paganism, connected with the worship of Bona Dea. Query, is this so elsewhere? C. S. P.
