_Philip_ King of _Macedon_ being a Hostage at _Thebes_, _Philo_ the _Theban_ received him into his House, and entertained him with great Kindness; some time after, this Prince would have acknowledged his Benefits by Presents; but the generous _Philo_ obstinately persisting to refuse them: _Oh! dear_ Philo, said he, _do not rob me now of the honour I have hitherto preserved, of having never been overcome in point of Benefits_. 82 _Philippe_ Roy de _Macedoine_ étant en otage à _Thebes_, _Philon_ le _Thebain_ le receut en sa Maison, & lui fit de grandes Amitiez.
