ذَكَرْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) رَجُلًا مُبْتَلًى بِالْوُضُوءِ وَ الصَّلَاةِ وَ قُلْتُ هُوَ رَجُلٌ عَاقِلٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَ أَيُّ عَقْلٍ لَهُ وَ هُوَ يُطِيعُ الشَّيْطَانَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ وَ كَيْفَ يُطِيعُ الشَّيْطَانَ فَقَالَ سَلْهُ هَذَا الَّذِي يَأْتِيهِ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ هُوَ فَإِنَّهُ يَقُولُ لَكَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ .

محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے ابن محبوب سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن سنان سے روایت کی، وہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام کو ایک ایسے شخص کے بارے میں بتایا جو وضو اور نماز میں وسوسے میں مبتلا تھا اور کہا کہ وہ ایک عقلمند آدمی ہے۔ تو ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: «اور اس میں کیا عقل ہے جبکہ وہ شیطان کی اطاعت کر رہا ہے؟» میں نے عرض کیا: وہ شیطان کی اطاعت کیسے کر رہا ہے؟ تو آپ نے فرمایا: «اس سے پوچھو کہ یہ چیز جو اس کے پاس آتی ہے، یہ کس چیز سے ہے؟ تو وہ تمہیں بتائے گا: یہ شیطان کے کاموں سے ہے۔»
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Abdullah Bin Sinan who said, ‘I mentioned to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> a man constantly indulging in the ablution and the <span class="iTxt">Sal</span>ā<span class="iTxt">t</span>, and I said, ‘He is an intelligent man’. So Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And which intellect is there for him, and he is obeying the Satan<sup>la</sup>?’ So I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘And how is he obeying the Satan<sup>la</sup>?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Ask him about this which he is doing, from which thing is it, so he would be saying to you, ‘From the acts of the Satan<sup>la</sup>’.
