الحسین بن محمد، معلیٰ بن محمد سے، علی بن اسباط سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابا جعفر (عليه السلام) کو دیکھا، اور وہ میرے پاس باہر تشریف لائے۔ پھر میں انہیں دیکھنے لگا، اور ان کے سر اور پاؤں کو دیکھتا رہا تاکہ میں مصر میں ہمارے ساتھیوں کے سامنے ان کے قد و قامت کا وصف بیان کر سکوں۔ میں اسی حالت میں تھا کہ وہ بیٹھ گئے اور فرمایا: اے علی، بے شک اللہ نے امامت کے بارے میں اسی طرح حجت قائم کی ہے جس طرح اس نے نبوت کے بارے میں حجت قائم کی، پس اس نے فرمایا: اور ہم نے اسے بچپن ہی میں حکم عطا کیا۔ اور جب وہ اپنی پختگی کو پہنچا اور چالیس سال کو پہنچا۔ پس یہ جائز ہے کہ حکمت کسی کو اس حال میں دی جائے کہ وہ بچہ ہو، اور یہ بھی جائز ہے کہ اسے اس حال میں دی جائے کہ وہ چالیس سال کا ہو۔

Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Asbat who said, ‘I saw Abu Ja’far^asws and he^asws had come out to me. So I took to looking at him^asws and went on looking at him^asws to his^asws head and his^asws legs in order to be able to describe him^asws to our companions in Egypt. While I was during that, he^asws sat down and said: ‘O Ali! Allah^azwj has Argued regarding the Imamate similar to what He^azwj Argued with regarding the Prophet-hood, so He^azwj Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:19#h12"><a href="/books/quran:19#h12">[19:12]</a></a> and We Granted him the Wisdom whilst he was a child</span>. <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:46#h15"><a href="/books/quran:46#h15">[46:15]</a></a> until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years</span>. Thus, it is allowed that he^as be Given the Wisdom and he^as was a child, and it is allowed that He^azwj be Given it and he^as was a man of forty years of age’.
