قُلْتُ لِلرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّ الْإِمَامَ لَا يَغْسِلُهُ إِلَّا الْإِمَامُ فَقَالَ أَ مَا تَدْرُونَ مَنْ حَضَرَ لِغُسْلِهِ قَدْ حَضَرَهُ خَيْرٌ مِمَّنْ غَابَ عَنْهُ الَّذِينَ حَضَرُوا يُوسُفَ فِي الْجُبِّ حِينَ غَابَ عَنْهُ أَبَوَاهُ وَ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ .

اور ان سے، معلّیٰ بن محمد سے، محمد بن جمہور سے، یونس سے، طلحہ سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے الرضا علیہ السلام سے کہا: “بے شک امام کو امام کے سوا کوئی نہیں غسل دیتا۔” تو انہوں نے فرمایا: “کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ اس کے غسل کے لیے کون حاضر تھا؟ جو اس کے غسل میں حاضر ہوئے وہ ان لوگوں سے بہتر تھے جو اس سے غائب تھے۔” وہی لوگ جو یوسف کے ساتھ کنویں میں موجود تھے، جب اس کے والدین اور اس کے اہلِ بیت اس سے غائب تھے۔”
Translation
And from him, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour, from Yunus, from Talha who said, ‘I said to Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The Imam<sup>asws</sup> is such that none can wash him<sup>asws</sup> (for funeral) except (another) Imam<sup>asws</sup>?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘What would make you know who was present for his<sup>asws</sup> washing? (The ones who) had attended it were better than those who were absent from it. Those who attended Yusuf<sup>as</sup> in the well when his<sup>as</sup> parents and his<sup>as</sup> family were absent from him<sup>as</sup>’.
