John Shaqi

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ الْحُرِّ يَتَزَوَّجُ بِأَمَةِ قَوْمٍ الْوُلْدُ مَمَالِيكُ أَوْ أَحْرَارٌ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُ أَبَوَيْهِ حُرّاً فَالْوُلْدُ أَحْرَارٌ . عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ مِثْلَهُ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from one of our companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the free man marrying a slave girl of a group of people, would the children be slaves or free ones?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When it was such that one of its parents was free, so the children would be free ones’. <span style="font-size: small">A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ibn Abu Umeyr</span> – similar to it.
