قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) هَلْ يُصَافِحُ الرَّجُلُ الْمَرْأَةَ لَيْسَتْ بِذِي مَحْرَمٍ فَقَالَ لَا إِلَّا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الثَّوْبِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Abu Ayoub Al Khazzaz, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Can the man shake the hand of the woman who is not with a sanctity (with him)?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, except from behind the cloth’.
