ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے ابن سنان سے، انہوں نے مسمع کردین بصری سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: میں رات اور دن میں ایک ہی کھانے سے زیادہ نہیں کھاتا تھا۔ کبھی کبھی میں ابوعبداللّٰہ علیہ السلام کی خدمت میں حاضر ہونے کی اجازت طلب کرتا اور دیکھتا کہ دسترخوان اٹھا لیا گیا ہے، یہاں تک کہ میں اسے ان کے سامنے نہ دیکھتا۔ پھر جب میں داخل ہوتا تو وہ اسے منگواتے، اور میں ان کے ساتھ کھانا کھاتا، اور مجھے اس سے کوئی تکلیف نہ ہوتی۔ لیکن اگر میں ایک کھانے کے بعد کسی اور کے ساتھ کھانا کھاتا تو میں قرار نہ پا سکتا اور پھولنے کی وجہ سے سو نہ سکتا تھا۔ پس میں نے اس کی شکایت ان سے کی اور انہیں بتایا کہ جب میں ان کے ساتھ کھاتا ہوں تو مجھے اس سے کوئی تکلیف نہیں ہوتی۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: "اے ابوسعّیار، تم ایک صالح قوم کا کھانا کھا رہے ہو؛ فرشتے ان کے بستروں پر ان سے مصافحہ کرتے ہیں۔" انہوں نے کہا: میں نے عرض کیا: "اور کیا وہ آپ کو نظر آتے ہیں؟" پھر انہوں نے اپنا ہاتھ اپنے بعض بچوں پر پھیرا اور فرمایا: "وہ ہمارے بچوں کے ساتھ ہم سے زیادہ نرمی کرتے ہیں۔"

Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Sinan, from Misma’a Kirdeyn Al Basry who said, ‘I did not used to increase upon eating once by the night and the day. So, sometimes I would ask permission upon vising Abu Abdullah^asws, and find that perhaps the meal would have been raised and I would not see it in front of him^asws. So when I would enter, he^asws would call for it, so I would attain with him^asws from the food, and I would not be harmed by that (the food at all). However, whenever I ate the food with others (people), I was not able upon settling and could not sleep due to gasses (indigestion). So I complained of what to him^asws and I informed him that whenever I ate with him^asws I am not harmed by it. So he^asws said: ‘O Abu Sayyar! You are eating the food of the righteous people^asws. Then Angels shake their hands upon their^asws furnishings’. I said, ‘And they appear to you^asws all (Imams^asws)?’ So he^asws wiped his^asws hands upon one of his^asws children and he^asws said: ‘They are kinder with our^asws children than we^asws are with them’.
