إِذَا كَانَ بِامْرَأَةِ أَحَدِكُمْ حَبَلٌ فَأَتَى عَلَيْهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ فَلْيَسْتَقْبِلْ بِهَا الْقِبْلَةَ وَ لْيَقْرَأْ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ وَ لْيَضْرِبْ عَلَى جَنْبِهَا وَ لْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي قَدْ سَمَّيْتُهُ مُحَمَّداً فَإِنَّهُ يَجْعَلُهُ غُلَاماً فَإِنْ وَفَى بِالِاسْمِ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فِيهِ وَ إِنْ رَجَعَ عَنِ الِاسْمِ كَانَ لِلَّهِ فِيهِ الْخِيَارُ إِنْ شَاءَ أَخَذَهُ وَ إِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَهُ .
اردو
جب تم میں سے کسی کی بیوی حاملہ ہو اور اس پر چار مہینے گزر جائیں تو اسے قبلہ رو کرو اور آیت الکرسی پڑھو اور اس کے پہلو پر مارو اور کہو: اے اللہ! میں نے اسے محمد نام رکھا ہے۔ تو یہ اسے لڑکا بنا دے گا۔ پھر اگر اس نے نام کے ساتھ وفا کی تو اللہ اسے اس میں برکت دے گا، اور اگر نام سے پھر گیا تو اللہ کا اختیار ہے: اگر چاہے تو اسے لے لے اور اگر چاہے تو چھوڑ دے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bni Muhammad Bin Isa, from Abdul Rahman Bin Abu Najran, from Al Husayn Bin Ahmad Al Minqary, from one of our companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Whenever one of you were to have a pregnancy with a woman, so four months come upon her, so let her face the Qiblah and let her recite the Verse of the Throne <a href="/#/books/quran:2#h255"><a href="/books/quran:2#h255">[2:255]</a></a>, and let her strike upon her side and let her say, ‘O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! I have named him Muhammad’. Thus, if he were to be loyal with the naming, Allah<sup>azwj</sup> would Bless for him with regards to it, and if he retracts from the naming, there would be for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> a Choice in it, if He<sup>azwj</sup> so Desires to He<sup>azwj</sup> Takes him (back), and if He<sup>azwj</sup> so Desires to, Leaves him’.
