John Shaqi

لَا يُولَدُ لَنَا وَلَدٌ إِلَّا سَمَّيْنَاهُ مُحَمَّداً فَإِذَا مَضَى لَنَا سَبْعَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَإِنْ شِئْنَا غَيَّرْنَا وَ إِنْ شِئْنَا تَرَكْنَا .


Translation

Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from one of our companions, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘There does not get born a child for us<sup>asws</sup> except that we<sup>asws</sup> name it as Muhammad. So when seven days pass for us<sup>asws</sup>, so if we<sup>asws</sup> so desire to, we<sup>asws</sup> changed it, and if we<sup>asws</sup> so desire to, we<sup>asws</sup> leave it’.
