لَوْ وَلِيتُ أَمْرَ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّمْتُهُمُ الطَّلَاقَ ثُمَّ لَمْ أُوتَ بِأَحَدٍ خَالَفَ إِلَّا أَوْجَعْتُهُ ضَرْباً .

احمد نے کہا، اور ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے ذکر کیا ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے، اور محمد ابن سماعہ نے ابو بصیر سے اور انہوں نے عبدالصالح علیہ السلام سے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: 'اگر میں لوگوں کے معاملات کا ولی ہوتا، تو میں انہیں طلاق کے احکام سکھاتا، پھر جو کوئی مخالفت کرتا اسے میرے پاس لایا جاتا تو میں اسے مار کر درد دیتا۔'
Translation
<span style="font-size: small">Ahmad said, and he mentioned one of our companions, from Abu Abdullah</span><sup>asws</sup><span style="font-size: small">, and Muhammad Bin Sama’at, from Abu Baseer, </span> (It has been narrated) from Al-Abd Al-Salih<sup>asws</sup> (7th Imam<sup>asws</sup>) having said: ‘If I<sup>asws</sup> am entrusted with the affairs of the people, I<sup>asws</sup> would teach them the divorce, then they would not come with anyone who opposed, except that I<sup>asws</sup> would Obligate the whipping (on him)’.
