سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) مَا حَقُّ الْإِمَامِ عَلَى النَّاسِ قَالَ حَقُّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَسْمَعُوا لَهُ وَ يُطِيعُوا قُلْتُ فَمَا حَقُّهُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ يَقْسِمَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالسَّوِيَّةِ وَ يَعْدِلَ فِي الرَّعِيَّةِ فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي النَّاسِ فَلَا يُبَالِي مَنْ أَخَذَ هَاهُنَا وَ هَاهُنَا .

الحسین بن محمد، معلیٰ بن محمد سے، محمد بن جمہور سے، حماد بن عثمان سے، ابو حمزہ سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے پوچھا: 'امام کا لوگوں پر کیا حق ہے؟' انہوں نے فرمایا: 'ان پر اس کا حق یہ ہے کہ وہ اس کی بات سنیں اور اس کی اطاعت کریں۔' میں نے کہا: 'پھر ان کا اس پر کیا حق ہے؟' انہوں نے فرمایا: 'یہ کہ وہ ان کے درمیان برابر تقسیم کرے اور رعایا کے بارے میں انصاف کرے۔ پس جب لوگوں میں یہ بات ہو تو اسے اس کی پروا نہیں ہوتی کہ یہاں سے کون لے اور وہاں سے کون لے۔'
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Jamhour, from Hammad Bin Usman, from Abu Hamza who said, ‘I asked Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, ‘What is the right of the Imam<sup>asws</sup> upon the people?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘His<sup>asws</sup> right upon them is that they should listen to him<sup>asws</sup> and obey him<sup>asws</sup>’. I said, ‘So what is their right?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He<sup>asws</sup> should distribute between them with the equality and do justice among the citizens. So when it was that among the people, so no one will fear who has taken this or that’.
