سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ عَمَلًا إِلَّا بِمَعْرِفَةٍ وَ لَا مَعْرِفَةَ إِلَّا بِعَمَلٍ فَمَنْ عَرَفَ دَلَّتْهُ الْمَعْرِفَةُ عَلَى الْعَمَلِ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ فَلَا مَعْرِفَةَ لَهُ أَلَا إِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ بَعْضُهُ مِنْ بَعْضٍ .

محمد بن یحیی نے احمد بن محمد بن عیسی سے، انہوں نے محمد بن سنان سے، انہوں نے ابن مسکان سے، انہوں نے حسین الصیقل سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: اللہ کسی عمل کو قبول نہیں کرتا سوائے معرفت کے ساتھ، اور معرفت نہیں ہوتی سوائے عمل کے ساتھ۔ پس جو شخص معرفت رکھتا ہے، معرفت اسے عمل کی طرف رہنمائی کرتی ہے؛ اور جو عمل نہیں کرتا، اس کی کوئی معرفت نہیں ہے۔ آگاہ رہو! بے شک ایمان کا بعض حصہ دوسرے سے ہے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Ibn Muskan, fromHusayn Al Sayqal who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> does not Accept a deed except with the understanding, nor the understanding except with the deed. So the one who understands that, the understanding would indicate him upon the (performance of the) deed, and the one who does not act, so there is no understanding for him. Indeed! The <span class="iTxt">Eman</span>, part of it is from the other part’.
