Translation

A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ibn Abu Nasr, from Rafa’at who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullahasws about the one widowed from her husband and he is absent, when should she observe her waiting period from?’ So heasws said: ‘The day it (news) reaches her’. And heasws mentioned that Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘One of you women used to remain waiting for a year when her husband died and he was absent, then she would throw her desires behind her back’.
