حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّينَوَرِيُّ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ زَاهِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الْقَائِمِ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيْهِ بِإِمْرَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ لَا ذَاكَ اسْمٌ سَمَّى اللَّهُ بِهِ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) لَمْ يُسَمَّ بِهِ أَحَدٌ قَبْلَهُ وَ لَا يَتَسَمَّى بِهِ بَعْدَهُ إِلَّا كَافِرٌ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ كَيْفَ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ يَقُولُونَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ بَقِيَّتُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ .

اسحاق بن ابراہیم الدینوری نے مجھ سے روایت کی، عمر بن ظاہر سے، وہ ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: ایک شخص نے ان سے القائم کے بارے میں پوچھا: "کیا انہیں امیر المؤمنین کہہ کر سلام کیا جائے؟" انہوں نے فرمایا: "نہیں۔ یہ وہ نام ہے جس سے اللہ نے امیر المؤمنین علیہ السلام کو نامزد فرمایا۔ ان سے پہلے کسی کو اس نام سے نہیں پکارا گیا، اور ان کے بعد کوئی بھی اپنے لیے یہ نام اختیار نہیں کرے گا مگر کافر۔" میں نے عرض کیا: "میں آپ پر قربان، پھر انہیں کیسے سلام کیا جائے؟" انہوں نے فرمایا: "کہو: السلام علیک یا بقية اللہ۔" پھر انہوں نے تلاوت کی: "بقیة اللہ تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے، اگر تم مؤمن ہو۔"
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ja’far Bin Muhammad who said, ‘Is’haq Bin Ibrahim Al Deynouwary narrated to me, from Umar Bin Azhir, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, said, ‘A man asked him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> about Al-Qaim<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, ‘Can one greet upon him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> as ‘Amir Al-Momineen’?’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘No, that is a name which Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Named Amir Al-Momineen<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> with. No one has been named with it before him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, nor would anyone be named with it after him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> except for ‘كَافِرٌ’ an Infidel’. I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>! How should one greet upon him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>?’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘They should be saying, ‘The greetings be upon you<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, O Remaining one of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>! (يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللَّهِ)’. Then he<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> recited <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:11#h86"><a href="/books/quran:11#h86">[11:86]</a></a> The Remaining one of Allah is better for you if you are Believers</span>’.
