الْعِلْمُ مَقْرُونٌ إِلَى الْعَمَلِ فَمَنْ عَلِمَ عَمِلَ وَ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَلِمَ وَ الْعِلْمُ يَهْتِفُ بِالْعَمَلِ فَإِنْ أَجَابَهُ وَ إِلَّا ارْتَحَلَ عَنْهُ .

محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے محمد بن سنان سے، انہوں نے اسماعیل بن جابر سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: علم عمل سے جڑا ہوا ہے۔ پس جو جانتا ہے وہ عمل کرتا ہے، اور جو عمل کرتا ہے وہ جانتا ہے۔ اور علم عمل کو پکارتا ہے — پس اگر عمل نے جواب دیا تو ٹھیک ہے، ورنہ علم اس سے کوچ کر جاتا ہے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Ismail Bin Jabir, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The knowledge is coupled to the deed. So the one who knows, would act, and the one who acts would know; and the knowledge would invite the acts (the deeds), so if it answers it (fine), or else it would depart from him’.
