John Shaqi

الْمُدَبَّرَةِ إِذَا مَاتَ مَوْلَاهَا أَنَّ عِدَّتَهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَ عَشْرٌ مِنْ يَوْمِ يَمُوتُ سَيِّدُهَا إِذَا كَانَ سَيِّدُهَا يَطَؤُهَا قِيلَ لَهُ فَالرَّجُلُ يُعْتِقُ مَمْلُوكَتَهُ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِسَاعَةٍ أَوْ بِيَوْمٍ ثُمَّ يَمُوتُ قَالَ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ تَعْتَدُّ بِثَلَاثِ حِيَضٍ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةِ قُرُوءٍ مِنْ يَوْمَ أَعْتَقَهَا سَيِّدُهَا .


Translation

Muhammad, from Ahmad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Dawood Al Raqy, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> regarding the <span class="iTxt">Al-Mudabbira</span> (promised freedom upon the death of her master), when her master dies, that her waiting period is of four months and ten (days) from the day of the death of her master, if her master had copulated with her’. It was said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Supposing the man who emancipates his owned slave girl before his death, by an hour, or by a day, then he dies’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘This one would observer the waiting period of three menstruations, or three <span class="iTxt">Quroos</span> (pure periods), from the day her master emancipated her’.
