قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) الرَّجُلُ تَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ السُّرِّيَّةُ لَهُ وَ قَدْ وَلَدَتْ مِنْهُ وَ قَدْ مَاتَ وَلَدُهَا ثُمَّ يُعْتِقُهَا قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ لَهَا أَنْ تَتَزَوَّجَ حَتَّى تَنْقَضِيَ عِدَّتُهَا ثَلَاثَةُ أَشْهُرٍ .
Translation
Ibn Mahboub, from Sa’dan Bin Muslim, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The man happens to have a concubine of his with him, and she had given birth from him, and her child had died. Then he emancipated her’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It is not Permissible for her that he marries until she fulfills her waiting period of three months’.
