عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَعْتَقَ جَارِيَتَهُ وَ شَرَطَ عَلَيْهَا أَنْ تَخْدُمَهُ خَمْسَ سِنِينَ فَأَبَقَتْ ثُمَّ مَاتَ الرَّجُلُ فَوَجَدَهَا وَرَثَتُهُ أَ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَخْدِمُوهَا قَالَ لَا .

محمد بن الحسین سے، وہ صفوان سے، وہ یعقوب بن شعیب سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے ایک ایسے شخص کے بارے میں سوال کیا جس نے اپنی لونڈی کو آزاد کیا اور اس پر یہ شرط لگائی کہ وہ پانچ سال اس کی خدمت کرے۔ پھر وہ لونڈی بھاگ گئی، پھر وہ آدمی مر گیا۔ اس کے ورثاء نے اسے پایا۔ کیا انہیں حق ہے کہ وہ اس سے خدمت لیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: نہیں۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, or said, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Safwan, from Yaqoub Bin Shuayb who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about a man who emancipated his slave girl and stipulated a condition upon her that ‘if she were to serve him for five years’. So she remained, then the man died. So she was found to have inherited him. Is it for them (the family of the deceased) that they make her serve them?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No’.
