John Shaqi

سَأَلَ الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) وَ أَنَا حَاضِرٌ عَنِ الْجِرِّيِّ فَقَالَ وَجَدْنَا فِي كِتَابِ عَلِيٍّ ( عليه السلام ) أَشْيَاءَ مُحَرَّمَةً مِنَ السَّمَكِ فَلَا تَقْرَبْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ قِشْرٌ مِنَ السَّمَكِ فَلَا تَقْرَبَنَّهُ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hannan Bin Sudeyr who said, ‘Al-Aa’la Bin Kamil asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> and I was present, about the catfish. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘We<sup>asws</sup> found in the Book of Ali<sup>asws</sup>, Forbidden things from the fish, therefore do not go near these’. Then Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘What does not happen to have scales for it, from the fishes, so do not go near it’.
