John Shaqi

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) لِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) يَا عَلِيُّ افْتَتِحْ بِالْمِلْحِ فِي طَعَامِكَ وَ اخْتِمْ بِالْمِلْحِ فَإِنَّهُ مَنِ افْتَتَحَ طَعَامَهُ بِالْمِلْحِ وَ خَتَمَهُ بِالْمِلْحِ دَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَبْعِينَ نَوْعاً مِنْ أَنْوَاعِ الْبَلَاءِ أَيْسَرُهَا الْجُذَامُ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Ibn Bukeyr, from Zurara, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Prophet<sup>saww</sup> said to Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup>: ‘O Ali<sup>asws</sup>! Start with salt in your meal, and end with the salt, for the one who starts his meal with the salt and ends it with the salt, Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Repels from him seventy types from the types of the afflictions, the easiest one being the leprosy’.
