John Shaqi

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَقَرَّبَتْ إِلَيْهِ كِسَراً فَقَالَ هَلْ عِنْدَكِ إِدَامٌ فَقَالَتْ لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا خَلٌّ فَقَالَ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) نِعْمَ الْإِدَامُ الْخَلُّ مَا أَقْفَرَ بَيْتٌ فِيهِ الْخَلُّ .


Translation

Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moala Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Washa, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> went over to Umm Salma<sup>as</sup>, so she<sup>as</sup> forwarded a piece of bread nearer to him<sup>saww</sup> So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Is there sauce with you<sup>as</sup>?’ So she<sup>as</sup> said, ‘No, O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, there is nothing with me<sup>as</sup> except for vinegar’. So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘The best of the sauces is the vinegar, it would never be impoverish, a house in wherein is the vinegar’.
