John Shaqi

إِنَّا لَنَبْدَأُ بِالْخَلِّ عِنْدَنَا كَمَا تَبْدَءُونَ بِالْمِلْحِ عِنْدَكُمْ فَإِنَّ الْخَلَّ لَيَشُدُّ الْعَقْلَ .


Translation

Ali Bin Muhammad, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Aban Bin Abdul Malik, from Ismail Bin Jabir, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: We<sup>asws</sup> begin with the vinegar in our<sup>asws</sup> presence, just as you all are beginning with the salt in your presence, for the vinegar strengthens the intellect’.
