عَلَيْكَ بِالْهِنْدَبَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ يَزِيدُ فِي الْمَاءِ وَ يُحَسِّنُ الْوَلَدَ وَ هُوَ حَارٌّ لَيِّنٌ يَزِيدُ فِي الْوَلَدِ الذُّكُورَةَ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad and Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar altogether from Al Hajjal, from Sa’alba, from a man, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘It is upon you with (eating) the endive, for it increased in the water, and improves the child birth, and it is hot, soft, increasing in the male children’.
