كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِذْ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ الْقُمِّيُّ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ أَشْرَبُ الْمَاءَ وَ أَنَا قَائِمٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنْ شِئْتَ قَالَ أَ فَأَشْرَبُ بِنَفَسٍ وَاحِدٍ حَتَّى أَرْوَى قَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ قَالَ فَأَسْجُدُ وَ يَدِي فِي ثَوْبِي قَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنِّي وَ اللَّهِ مَا مِنْ هَذَا وَ شِبْهِهِ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ .
اردو
میں ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام کے پاس تھا کہ عبد الملک القمی ان کے پاس آئے اور کہا: اللہ آپ کو درست رکھے! کیا میں کھڑے ہوکر پانی پی سکتا ہوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر تم چاہو۔ اس نے کہا: کیا میں ایک ہی سانس میں پانی پی سکتا ہوں یہاں تک کہ سیراب ہو جاؤں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر تم چاہو۔ اس نے کہا: کیا میں کپڑے کے اندر ہاتھ رکھ کر سجدہ کر سکتا ہوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر تم چاہو۔ پھر ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: خدا کی قسم، میں اس اور اس جیسی چیزوں کی وجہ سے تم پر نہیں ڈرتا۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan, altogether from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj who said, ‘I was in the presence of Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> when Abdul Malik Al-Qummy came over to him<sup>asws</sup>, so he said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘May Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Keep you well! Can I drink the water and I am standing?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said to him: ‘If you so desire to’. He said, ‘Shall I drink in one breath until I am quenched?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If you so desire to’. He said, ‘Supposing I were to prostrate and my hands were inside my clothes?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If you so desire to’. Then Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘I<sup>asws</sup>, by Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, am not from this, and the likes of it. I<sup>asws</sup> fear over you’.
