كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) بِالْحِجْرِ فَاسْتَسْقَى مَاءً فَأُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ صُفْرٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِنَّ عَبَّادَ بْنَ كَثِيرٍ يَكْرَهُ الشُّرْبَ فِي الصُّفْرِ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ وَ قَالَ ( عليه السلام ) لِلرَّجُلِ أَلَّا سَأَلْتَهُ أَ ذَهَبٌ هُوَ أَمْ فِضَّةٌ .

میں ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام کے ساتھ حجر (حجر اسود کے قریب) میں تھا تو انہوں نے پانی مانگا، تو ایک پیتل کا پیالہ لایا گیا۔ ایک شخص نے کہا: بے شک عباد بن کثیر پیتل کے برتن میں پینا ناپسند کرتا ہے۔ تو آپ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: کوئی حرج نہیں۔ اور آپ علیہ السلام نے اس شخص سے فرمایا: کیا تو نے اس سے یہ نہیں پوچھا کہ کیا یہ سونا ہے یا چاندی؟
Translation
From him, from Muhammad Bin Ali, from Yunus Bin Yaqoub, from his brother Yusuf who said, ‘I was with Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> at Al-Hajar (the Black Stone), so he<sup>asws</sup> asked for water. So they came with a yellow cup. So a man said, ‘Abbad Bin Kaseer dislikes drinking in the yellow cup’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no problem with it’, and said to the man: ‘Did you ask him if it was gold, or silver?’
