مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) بِقَوْمٍ يَشْرَبُونَ الْمَاءَ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) اشْرَبُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا خَيْرُ أَوَانِيكُمْ .

ہمارے بہت سے اصحاب نے سہل بن زیاد سے، انہوں نے جعفر بن محمد الاشعری سے، انہوں نے ابن القداح سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ غزوہ تبوک کے دوران ایک ایسی قوم کے پاس سے گزرے جو اپنے منہ سے پانی پی رہی تھی۔ تو نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے انہیں فرمایا: اپنے ہاتھوں سے پیو، کیونکہ یہ تمہارے بہترین برتن ہیں۔
Translation
A number of our companions, for Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ja’far Bin Muhammad Al Ashary, from Ibn Al Qaddah, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Prophet<sup>saww</sup> passed by a group of people who were drinking the water by their mouths during the military expedition of Tabuk. So he<sup>saww</sup> said to them: ‘Drink with your hands, for these are the best of your utensils’.
