كَانَتْ زَمْزَمُ أَشَدَّ بَيَاضاً مِنَ اللَّبَنِ وَ أَحْلَى مِنَ الشَّهْدِ وَ كَانَتْ سَائِحَةً فَبَغَتْ عَلَى الْأَمْيَاهِ فَأَغَارَهَا اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَ عَزَّ وَ أَجْرَى عَلَيْهَا عَيْناً مِنْ صَبِرٍ .

ہمارے کئی اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد سے، ابن فضال سے، علی بن عقبہ سے، جس نے اسے ذکر کیا اس سے، حضرت ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: زمزم دودھ سے زیادہ سفید اور شہد سے زیادہ میٹھی ہوا کرتی تھی، اور آزادانہ بہتی تھی۔ پھر اس نے دوسرے پانیوں پر سرکشی کی، تو اللہ جل و عز نے اسے ناپسند فرمایا اور اس پر صبر (ایلوے) کا ایک چشمہ جاری کر دیا۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Fazal, from Ali Bin Uqba, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘<span class="iTxt">Zazam</span> used to be more intensely whiter than the milk, and sweeter than the honey, and it burst its banks and it boasted about it, so it was came upon by the (other) waters. So Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Majestic and Mighty Resented it and Caused a spring of aloe to flow over it’.
