John Shaqi

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَصِيرٍ وَ ابْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ قَالَا سَمِعْنَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ لَيْسَ مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُهَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ وَ لَكِنِ الَّذِي يُوَطِّنُ نَفْسَهُ أَنَّهُ إِذَا وَجَدَهَا شَرِبَهَا .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Ja’far, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Hameed, from Sayf Bin Umeyra, from Mansour Bin Hazim, from Abu Baseer and Ibn Abu Yafour who both said, ‘We heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘The habitual (drinker of) the wine is not the one who drinks it every day, but the one who resigns himself that whenever he were to find it, would drink it’.
