أَتَى الْعَبَّاسُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) فَقَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اجْتَمَعُوا أَنْ يَدْفِنُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فِي بَقِيعِ الْمُصَلَّى وَ أَنْ يَؤُمَّهُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ فَخَرَجَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) إِلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِمَامٌ حَيّاً وَ مَيِّتاً وَ قَالَ إِنِّي أُدْفَنُ فِي الْبُقْعَةِ الَّتِي أُقْبَضُ فِيهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ النَّاسَ عَشَرَةً عَشَرَةً يُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُونَ .

علی بن ابراہیم، ان کے والد سے، ابن ابی عمیر سے، حماد سے، الحلبی سے، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے، جنہوں نے فرمایا: العباس امیر المؤمنین علیہ السلام کے پاس آئے اور کہا: “اے علی، لوگ جمع ہو گئے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله کو بقیعِ مصلیٰ میں دفن کریں، اور یہ کہ ان میں سے ایک آدمی ان کی امامت کرے۔” پس امیر المؤمنین علیہ السلام لوگوں کے پاس باہر آئے اور فرمایا: “اے لوگو، رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله زندہ اور مردہ دونوں حالتوں میں امام ہیں، اور انہوں نے فرمایا: ‘میں اسی جگہ دفن کیا جاؤں گا جہاں مجھے قبض کیا جائے گا۔’” پھر اس نے دروازے پر کہا: “پس ان پر salat ادا کرو۔” پھر اس نے لوگوں کو حکم دیا کہ وہ دس دس کر کے ان پر salat پڑھیں، پھر وہ چلے جائیں۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad, from Al Halby, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Al-Abbas came over to Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup>, so he said, ‘O Ali<sup>asws</sup>! The people are gathering that they would be burning Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> in the spot of the Praying place, and that a man from them would be leading the (funeral) <span class="iTxt">Salat</span>. So Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> came out to the people and he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O you people! Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> is an Imam<sup>asws</sup>, be he<sup>saww</sup> alive or expired, and he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘I<sup>saww</sup> want to be buried in the spot in which I<sup>saww</sup> would pass away’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘(Come) at the door, so pray <span class="iTxt">Salat</span> upon him<sup>saww</sup>’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> instructed the people, ten by ten to be praying <span class="iTxt">Salat</span> upon him<sup>saww</sup>. Then they went out’.
