John Shaqi

قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي سُلْطَاناً عَلَى أَسْوَاقِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَرَفَعْتُ عَنْهُمْ هَذِهِ الْخَمْرَةَ يَعْنِي الْفُقَّاعَ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya and someone else, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad, from Al Husayn Bin Abdullah Al Qarashy, from a man from our companions, from Abu Abdullah Al Nowfaly, from Zadaan, Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> has said: ‘Had there been the authority (rule) for me<sup>asws</sup> upon the markets of the Muslims, I would have lifted these wines from them, meaning the fermented drinks’.
