كَتَبْتُ إِلَيْهِ يَعْنِي أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلَ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ السِّكَنْجَبِينِ وَ الْجُلَّابِ وَ رُبِّ التُّوتِ وَ رُبِّ التُّفَّاحِ وَ رُبِّ السَّفَرْجَلِ وَ رُبِّ الرُّمَّانِ فَكَتَبَ حَلَالٌ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, form Mansour Bin Al Abbas, from Ja’far Bin Ahad Al Makfouf who said, ‘I wrote to him<sup>asws</sup>, meaning Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> the 1st asking him<sup>asws</sup> about the ginger drink, and the rose water, and the mulberry jam, and the apple jam, and the quince jam, and the pomegranate jam. So he<sup>asws</sup> wrote: ‘Permissible’.
