سَأَلَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) رَجُلٌ وَ أَنَا عِنْدَهُ عَنْ جُلُودِ الْخَزِّ فَقَالَ لَيْسَ بِهَا بَأْسٌ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنَّهَا فِي بِلَادِي وَ إِنَّمَا هِيَ كِلَابٌ تَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِذَا خَرَجَتْ مِنَ الْمَاءِ تَعِيشُ خَارِجَةً مِنَ الْمَاءِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ لَا قَالَ فَلَا بَأْسَ.

ابو علی الاشعری نے محمد بن عبد الجبار سے، انہوں نے صفوان بن یحییٰ سے، انہوں نے عبد الرحمن بن الحجاج سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: ایک آدمی نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے خز کی کھالوں کے بارے میں پوچھا جبکہ میں آپ کے پاس موجود تھا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: 'ان میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے۔' اس آدمی نے کہا: 'میں آپ پر فدا ہوں! یہ میرے علاقے میں ایسے کتے ہیں جو پانی سے نکلتے ہیں۔' تو ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: 'جب یہ پانی سے نکلتے ہیں تو کیا پانی سے باہر جی سکتے ہیں؟' اس آدمی نے کہا: 'نہیں۔' آپ نے فرمایا: 'تو کوئی حرج نہیں۔'
Translation
Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj who said, ‘A man asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> and I was in his<sup>asws</sup> presence, about <span class="iTxt">Al-Khazz</span> (Otter-skin?) dress. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no problem with it’. So the man said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>! These are dogs coming out from the water’. So Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When it comes out from the water, does it live outside the water?’ So the man said, ‘No’. He<sup>asws</sup> said, ‘So there is no problem’.
