میں حضرت ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام کے پاس گیا جبکہ میں نے خز کا قبا پہنا ہوا تھا، اس کی استر بھی خز تھی اور ایک اعلیٰ قسم کا خز کا طیلسان بھی تھا۔ تو میں نے کہا: 'مجھ پر ایک ایسا لباس ہے جسے پہننا مجھے ناپسند ہے۔' انہوں نے فرمایا: 'وہ کیا ہے؟' میں نے کہا: 'میرا یہ طیلسان۔' انہوں نے فرمایا: 'طیلسان میں کیا خرابی ہے؟' میں نے کہا: 'یہ خز ہے۔' انہوں نے فرمایا: 'خز میں کیا خرابی ہے؟' میں نے کہا: 'اس کا تانا ریشم ہے۔' انہوں نے فرمایا: 'ریشم میں کیا خرابی ہے؟' پھر انہوں نے فرمایا: 'یہ مکروہ نہیں کہ کپڑے کا تانا ریشم ہو، نہ اس کے بٹن، نہ اس کی علامت۔ البتہ جو مکروہ ہے وہ مکمل ریشم مردوں کے لیے؛ اور عورتوں کے لیے مکروہ نہیں۔'

Translation

Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Al Ays Bin Al Qasim, from Abu Dawood Yusuf Bin Ibrahim who said, ‘I went over to Abu Abdullah^asws and upon me was an <span class="iTxt">Al-Khazz</span> cloak, and its lining was of <span class="iTxt">Khazz</span>, and a pallium of <span class="iTxt">Khazz</span>, of high quality. So I said, ‘Upon me are clothes which I dislike to wear’. So he^asws said: ‘And what is it?’ I said, ‘This pallium of mine’. He^asws said: ‘And what is the matter with the pallium?’ I said, ‘It is of <span class="iTxt">Khazz</span>’. He^asws said: ‘And what is the matter with <span class="iTxt">Al-Khazz</span>?’ I said, ‘Its lining is of silk’. He^asws said: ‘And what is the matter with the silk?’ He^asws said: ‘Do not dislike it if the lining of the cloth happens to be of silk, nor its buttons, nor its emblem. But rather it is disliked, the entirety of it from the silk, for the men and it is not disliked for the women’.
