رَأَيْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَدَّهِنُ بِالْخِيرِيِّ فَقَالَ لِيَ ادَّهِنْ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ عَنِ الْبَنَفْسَجِ وَ قَدْ رُوِيَ فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ أَكْرَهُ رِيحَهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ فَإِنِّي كُنْتُ أَكْرَهُ رِيحَهُ وَ أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَقُولَ ذَلِكَ لِمَا بَلَغَنِي فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ لَا بَأْسَ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from his father, and Ibn Fazzal, from Al Hassan Bin Al Jaham who said, ‘I saw Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup> oiling with the gillyflower oil, so he<sup>asws</sup> said to me: ‘Oil (yourself)’. So I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Where do you<sup>asws</sup> stand about the violet (oil) and what has been reported with regards to it, from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘I<sup>asws</sup> dislike its smell’. I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘So I (also) did not like its smell and I did not like to say that to you<sup>asws</sup> due to what has reached me with regards to it from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no problem’.
