ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) حُسْنُ الطَّاوُسِ فَقَالَ لَا يَزِيدُكَ عَلَى حُسْنِ الدِّيكِ الْأَبْيَضِ شَيْءٌ قَالَ وَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ الدِّيكُ أَحْسَنُ صَوْتاً مِنَ الطَّاوُسِ وَ هُوَ أَعْظَمُ بَرَكَةً يُنَبِّهُكَ فِي مَوَاقِيتِ الصَّلَاةِ وَ إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو الطَّاوُسُ بِالْوَيْلِ لِخَطِيئَةِ الَّتِي ابْتُلِيَ بِهَا .

ہمارے بہت سے اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد بن خالد سے، انہوں نے قاسم بن یحیی سے، انہوں نے اپنے دادا حسن بن راشد سے، انہوں نے یعقوب بن جعفر بن ابراہیم الجعفری سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: ابوالحسن علیہ السلام کے سامنے طاؤس کی خوبصورتی کا ذکر کیا گیا، تو آپ نے فرمایا: 'یہ تمہیں سفید مرغ کی خوبصورتی سے کچھ بھی زیادہ نہیں دیتا۔' انہوں نے کہا: اور میں نے انہیں فرماتے سنا: 'مرغ طاؤس سے آواز میں بہتر ہے، اور وہ برکت میں زیادہ بڑا ہے؛ وہ تمہیں نماز کے اوقات میں جگاتا ہے، جبکہ طاؤس اس گناہ کی وجہ سے ہائے وائے کرتا رہتا ہے جس میں وہ مبتلا ہوا۔'
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Al Qasim Bin Yahya, from his grandfather Al Hassan Bin Rashid, from Yaqoub Bin Ja’far Bin Ibrahim Al Ja’fary who said, ‘The beauty of peacoks were mentioned in the presence of Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup>, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘It would not increase you anything upon the beauty of the white rooster’. He (the narrator) said, ‘And I heard him<sup>asws</sup> saying, ‘The rooster is of better voice than the peacock, and it is greater in Blessings. It alerts you during the timings of the Prayers, rather the peacock bewails due to the error which it indulged in’.
