السَّهْمُ وَاحِدٌ مِنْ ثَمَانِيَةٍ لِقَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقاتُ لِلْفُقَراءِ وَ الْمَساكِينِ وَ الْعامِلِينَ عَلَيْها وَ الْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَ فِي الرِّقابِ وَ الْغارِمِينَ وَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَ ابْنِ السَّبِيلِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al Nowfaly, from Al Sakuny, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having been asked about a man who bequeathed with a ‘portion’ of his wealth. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The ‘portion’ is one from eight (1/8) due to the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Blessed and High <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:9#h60"><a href="/books/quran:9#h60">[9:60]</a></a> But rather, the charities are only for the poor and the needy, and the officials (appointed) over them, and those whose hearts are made to incline (to Truth) and the (ransoming of) captives and those in debts and in the Way of Allah and the wayfarer</span>’.
