ایک شخص بصرہ میں امیر المؤمنین علیہ السلام کے پاس ایک صحیفہ لے کر آیا اور کہا: اے امیر المؤمنین! اس صحیفے کو دیکھیں، اس میں نصیحت ہے۔ آپ نے اسے دیکھا، پھر اس شخص کے چہرے کو دیکھا اور فرمایا: اگر تم سچے ہو تو ہم تمہیں بدلہ دیں گے، اور اگر جھوٹے ہو تو سزا دیں گے، اور اگر چاہو کہ ہم تمہیں چھوڑ دیں تو چھوڑ دیں گے۔ اس نے کہا: بلکہ مجھے چھوڑ دیجئے یا امیر المؤمنین! جب وہ شخص پلٹ گیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: اے اپنے نبی کے بعد حیران و سرگردان امت! سنو، اگر تم نے اس کو آگے کیا ہوتا جسے اللہ نے آگے کیا اور اس کو پیچھے کیا ہوتا جسے اللہ نے پیچھے کیا اور ولایت و وراثت کو وہاں رکھا ہوتا جہاں اللہ نے رکھی ہے، تو اللہ کا ولی محتاج نہ ہوتا، اور اللہ کے فرائض کا کوئی حصہ ضائع نہ ہوتا، اور اللہ کے حکم میں دو آدمی اختلاف نہ کرتے، اور امت اللہ کے کسی امر میں جھگڑا نہ کرتی — سوائے یہ کہ اس کا علم ہمارے پاس کتاب اللہ سے ہے۔ پس چکھو وبال اس کا جو تمہارے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا، اور اللہ بندوں پر ذرا بھی ظلم نہیں کرتا، اور ظلم کرنے والے جلد جان لیں گے کہ وہ کس انجام کی طرف لوٹیں گے۔

Translation

Abu Ali Al Ashary and Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Ahmad Bin Is’haq, from Sa’dan Bin Muslim, from someone else from our companions who said, ‘A man came over to Amir Al-Momineen^asws at Al-Basra with a parchment, so he said, ‘O Amir Al-Momineen^asws! Look into this parchment, for therein is advice’. So he^asws looked into it, then looked at the face of the man, so he^asws said: ‘If you are truthful we^asws will remunerate you, and if you are a liar we^asws will punish you, and if you like that we^asws should release you, we^asws shall release you’. So he said, ‘Release me, O Amir Al-Momineen^asws’. So when the man turned back, he^asws said: ‘O you community (who is) confused after its Prophet^saww! But had you prioritised the one^asws whom Allah^azwj has prioritised, and pushed back the one whom Allah^azwj has Pushed back, and made the Wilayah and the inheritance where Allah^azwj has Made it to be, the Guradians^asws of Allah^azwj would not be needy, nor would a portion from the Obligations (legislated shares of inheritance) of Allah^azwj been neglected, nor two (people) would have differed regarding the Judgements of Allah^azwj, nor would the community have squabbled with regards to anything from the Commands of Allah^azwj, except that the Knowledge of that is in our^asws possession from the Book of Allah^azwj. Therefore, taste the evil consequences of <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:3#h182"><a href="/books/quran:3#h182">[3:182]</a></a> what your own hands have sent before and because Allah is not in the least unjust to the servants <a href="/#/books/quran:26#h227"><a href="/books/quran:26#h227">[26:227]</a></a> and they who act unjustly shall come to know the turning they shall be Overturned with</span>’.
