سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ أُخْتَيْنِ وَ زَوْجٍ فَقَالَ النِّصْفُ وَ النِّصْفُ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ قَدْ سَمَّى اللَّهُ لَهُمَا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا لَهُمَا الثُّلُثَانِ فَقَالَ مَا تَقُولُ فِي أَخٍ وَ زَوْجٍ فَقَالَ النِّصْفُ وَ النِّصْفُ فَقَالَ أَ لَيْسَ قَدْ سَمَّى اللَّهُ الْمَالَ فَقَالَ وَ هُوَ يَرِثُها إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَها وَلَدٌ
Translation
Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazal Bin Shazaan, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Jameel Bin Darraj, from Bukeyr, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, ‘A man asked him<sup>asws</sup> about two sisters and a husband, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The half and the half’. So the man said, ‘May Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Keep you<sup>asws</sup> well! Allah<sup>azwj</sup> has Named for them both, more than this. For the two of them is the two-thirds’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘So what would you say regarding a brother and a husband?’ So he said, ‘The half and the half’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Has not Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Named the wealth, so He<sup>azwj</sup> Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:4#h176"><a href="/books/quran:4#h176">[4:176]</a></a> and he shall be her heir </span>when there is no child for her?’
